How to Talk to Your Teen About Sweat (Without the Cringe)
Puberty turns the sweat dial up to eleven — teen bodies can sweat up to three times more — and most teens would rather disappear into the floor than talk about it. As a lifelong sweater myself, here's what I've learned about making the conversation easier.
Lead with facts, not fixes
Start from 'this is completely normal and healthy' rather than 'you need to do something about this'. Sweat is a sign their body is working exactly as designed. Frame it that way and the shame never gets a foothold.
Let them drive
Give them ownership of the solution. Let them pick their own products, their own routine, their own timing. When teens feel in control, they actually stick with it — when it feels like a parental correction, it lands in the bottom of a drawer.
Choose gentle by default
Teen skin is still developing. Skip the harsh aluminium and bicarbonate formulas and go plant-powered — that's exactly why we built our Teen Sweat Kit and why everything in it is designed for sensitive, changing skin.
Keep the door open
One good conversation beats one big lecture. And if sweating ever seems excessive or distressing, loop in a healthcare professional — that's not failure, that's good parenting.
Because sweat is normal. And the conversation around it should be too.
