Product

We are proud to work alongside a local chemist and manufacturer in Melbourne, Australia. Sourcing locally is one of Skoop's core values.

Absolutely! However, if you have any concerns we recommend that you consult your medical practitioner.

Yes, however, we do recommend performing a patch test first. Pop a small amount of product on the inside of your wrist (one of the most sensitive patches of skin!) and see if any redness or itching develops over 5 to 10 minutes. If not - you’re good to go! If you find any irritation, take a look at our ingredients list and chat to your doctor about what might be causing irritation.

Skoop is proudly plant-powered, derived from natural ingredients and is meticulously created to be gentle on all skin types.

Absolutely it is. All Skoop products are 100% vegan, cruelty free and non toxic. We also steer clear of nasties such as aluminium, talc and synthetic fragrances.

Skoop has been created for on the go. We tailored our formulations to take you from the beach to the boardroom and want you to feel proud of applying Skoop whenever needed - after all we are here to own how we sweat.  In saying that we recommend keeping your Skoop products in a cool, dry place as excessive heat may cause the product to destabilise.

All of Skoops plant-powered ingredients have been hand picked for their efficacy, safety and sustainability. Due to the nature of our products we recommended that you replace the product after 12 months of opening.

We've been testing Skoop products for over 12 months and can confidently say that with correct application there is minimal residue. In some instances, if Hand Hero is applied too liberally a white powder residue may form (and wipe off on clothes), this is due to the dry touch nature of the product and can be easily washed from all fabrics (please remember to follow specific fabrics directions).

This really depends on personal preference and how much you sweat on any given day. After several months of testing we can confidently say that the Skin Shield, Anti Chafe Balm will keep you sans friction for several hours while the Hand Hero, Antiperspirant lotion should be reapplied every 3 -4 hours or when necessary.

Do you want the long or the short version because we could talk all day about talc. Below are just a few of the reasons why we have said no to including Talc in Skoop.

Risk of Contamination - Talc is often mined from natural deposits, and some talc deposits have been found to be contaminated with asbestos, a known carcinogen. Asbestos contamination can occur when talc deposits are located near asbestos deposits or when the talc extraction process is not adequately controlled. Asbestos-contaminated talc has been linked to serious health issues, including lung cancer and mesothelioma. Need we say more….?

Respiratory Issues - Talc particles are fine and lightweight, making them easy to inhale. When talcum powder is applied to the skin, it can become airborne, increasing the risk of inhalation. Inhalation of talc particles has been associated with respiratory problems and lung damage, particularly in infants and young children. You still want more? Okay…..

Skin Irritation - Talc can be drying to the skin and may cause irritation, especially in individuals with sensitive or dry skin. This can lead to redness, itching, and discomfort. Ouch!

Clogged Pores - Talc-based products, such as certain powders and cosmetics, have the potential to clog pores, which may contribute to acne and other skin issues, particularly for individuals with oily or acne-prone skin.

Okay, this was another biggie for Skoop. It’s important to note here that while we have decided to stay clear of aluminium the jury is still out on if it is actually safe to use on the skin. Below are some of the risks and concerns currently up for debate and why we decided this was not something we wanted to play with.

Breast Cancer Concerns - Some studies in the past suggested a potential link between the use of aluminium-based antiperspirants and breast cancer. However, the scientific community has not reached a consensus on this issue, and more research is needed to establish a clear connection, if any.

Aluminium Absorption - There is evidence to suggest that a small amount of aluminium from antiperspirants can be absorbed through the skin. While the absorbed amount is typically very low and considered safe for most people, there are concerns about long-term exposure and the potential cumulative effects.

Neurological Concerns - Some research has explored the possible connection between aluminium exposure and neurological disorders like Alzheimer's disease. However, the link, if any, remains unclear, and the majority of scientific studies have not found conclusive evidence of a causal relationship.

Skin Irritation - Some individuals may experience skin irritation, redness, or itching as a result of using aluminium-based antiperspirants. This can be particularly problematic for individuals with sensitive skin.

For us, sustainable and responsible consumption and production go hand in hand with ensuring nothing finds its way into landfill. That's why we've taken a thoughtful approach to our packaging design. You may have already noticed our sleek aluminium tins (yes, we're Australian, and we say "aluminium"). Aluminium is a powerhouse in the world of packaging because it's 100% recyclable! It can be recycled over and over without losing any of its original qualities, embodying the essence of a circular product.

If upcycling isn't your vibe (no worries!), simply give your Skoop tin a rinse and send it on its way to the recycling bin. Who knows, it might circle back to you sooner than you think!
